L/O: To explore how to structure a story; to practise interview questions.

Interview questions-

Why have these storms been so bad this year compared to others?

What can we expect from the storms next in the uk?

How can we/ could we have prevented these storms?

Where have these sudden storms risen from?

Why are these storms happening/ happened?

Are these recent storms anywhere as bad as past storms?

Monday 16th March 2020

L/O: To evaluate and review our News day project.

Our News Report-

Recently in the UK there has been a sudden outbreak of storms. There has been a lot of wet weather and floods, suspected to have been coming from the Caribbean. The three recent storms were called Storm Ciara, Storm Dennis and Storm Jorge. The rise in storms over the years have gotten gradually worse over the years but this year's storms have been the wettest ever recorded in February/March in the

UK. They have happened all over England and are affecting the lives of many. Many places in and out of Cornwall have been heavily affected by the floods. This has caused panic in what’s coming next with the weather. Storm Jorge as we said previously is a good example of these sudden storms, it was a very strong storm that drowned the streets of Yorkshire and other locations in wales and northern England. We got an interview to help us with the ins and outs of why how and what is happening….

And that’s all the current news we have on these storms

Now back to the studio

Evaluation-

Me and Daniel worked on the storm report together (without Junior) we had to find out the story and research what we were going to do our report on, we then made the report itself and read it out to the camera, we then got in a geographical teacher to let us interview her on the topic. After filming all of that we editing it all bringing it all together and then acned it to the main editor of the group. I most enjoyed the editing part of our news day as we got to laugh at ourselves and i enjoy editing anyway. I least enjoyed the filming section because it was really cringe. I learnt how to make a real time news story, how to construct it, film it and edit it. If we were to do it again I would make the story different and make it longer and maybe add multiple real time stories.
